CATU DIOSIS @ BARULHO CLUB RAVE
Catu Diosis isn’t just a DJ—she’s a visionary force. Fusing Afrocentric sounds with global
underground bass, she crafts infectious, high-energy beats that demand attention. A
Ugandan producer, rapper, and DJ, her electrifying performances whisk audiences from
Luanda to São Paulo, Kampala to Bamako in an instant.
Catu’s electrifying presence has lit up iconic stages like Berlin’s CTM Festival, Fusion
Festival, Eurockéennes, and Nyege Nyege, leaving audiences spellbound. Beyond live
performances, she excels as a remixer, reimagining tracks for artists such as Pamela Badjogo,
Mamari Keita, UK’s Hello Cosmos,Dope Saint Jude and Muito Kaballa.
With R3ign Drops, Catu co-founded Dope Gal, a platform championing women’s creative
collaborations. Their latest project, ANYAKA festival, launched with an all-African female
lineup in Uganda and Kigali in early 2024, in partnership with Rwanda’s Organik X
(Miziguruka, Binghi, & Lyynduh). ANYAKA fosters artistic growth and collaboration for African
women, carving paths for emerging talent across the continent’s margins.
“Too many amazing female artists on the Continent, and not enough are
given the opportunity to shine”, that’s how Dope Gal got started and how
Catu is using her international career as a platform to champion others
and collaborate extensively with other amazing female artists.
Catu’s collaborative spark is unmistakable, from her 2023 live performance with French
Berlin-based artist Zoë Mc Pherson on Nik Nowak’s Multitude Sound System, to a standout
show with MC Yallah at Tenerife’s Keroxen Festival, and her recent feature at Nyege’s
Accidental Meetings residency in Bristol, where she created groundbreaking music with
experimental artists Rian Treanor and Uganda’s Ocen James.
With a hotly anticipated EP dropping soon on Hakuna Kulala and thrilling tour dates on the
horizon, 2025 is kicking off in style for Catu Diosis—and we’re all in. Stay tuned!
